Artists & Objects
Artists, makers and objects.

Chapter 01
María Bayardo
Form, movement and sculpture across scales.

María Bayardo is a Mexican sculptor and multidisciplinary artist with a background in architecture. Moving between abstraction and figurative form, her work explores movement, identity, emotional transformation and the human figure. Architectural training continues to inform the geometry, balance and spatial character of each sculpture — from intimate works to larger public and architectural-scale pieces exhibited internationally.
“I let my body talk and still my brain.”
Selected works held in Auckland.

Chapter 02
Logan Bow
Material, form and spatial experimentation.
Logan Bow is a multidisciplinary artist and emerging architect whose practice bridges visual art, design and spatial exploration. Working with polymethyl methacrylate, he transforms planar material through heat, distortion, folds, flow and symmetry into dimensional sculptural forms. His architectural training informs a close attention to material, scale and the relationship between object and built space.
“Physical form creates metaphysical space.”
Selected work available through XHUBA.

Chapter 03
Oaxacan makers
Copal wood, carving and generations of handwork.

XHUBA works with selected Oaxacan makers whose objects carry the individuality of hand carving, copal wood, painted surface and patient attention to detail. Casa Copal produces hand-worked figures in copal wood in San Martín Tilcajete, Oaxaca. These are sculptural works made through material knowledge, pattern and the singular character of each object.
